What safety is improved when the other doors remain locked when you open the drivers door?

Is it to prevent children to open their door?
In that case, the "childrens lock" is a good way to arrange this.

Changing this is not possible , it’s also a safety feature , in case of emergency you want all the doors to open instead of just one ....
